It’s the first Friday of December and that means that it’s FINALLY Christmas movie recommendation time! I can’t hold out on this one so I’m actually going to recommend my favourite (or at least one of my top three favourites) movie for you guys today. There’s a couple reasons for this. Firstly, it’s awesome. Secondly, some of you may have heard about a movie coming out today called Krampus. Well, remember how annoyed I was that Hunger Games ripped off the incredible Battle Royale? It’s the same thing here. The storyline is classic European folklore but I don’t want to hear everyone going on and on about how unique and interesting it is when the movie was already made in 2010 (Rare Exports) – and it’s amazing. Ugh. America, ripping off all the great foreign films. Anyways, I digress, I suppose it’s about time to get to the review.
I have been on such a good movie streak. I honestly can’t believe it. It’s been about six or seven great movies in a row. Not even just good movies, but great ones. If anyone out there is as much of a horror junkie as I am, you’ll recognize how rare this is. It’s like a special gift from the movie gods because of all the trash I’ve sifted through. That must be it. I’ve paid my dues and I’m finally collecting. Whatever it is, you guys are in for some really great recommendations. It started with Goodnight Mommy Last week and it continues with The Final Girls this week. These movies couldn’t be more different from each other but they are both fantastic films.
Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you’re in the mood for an incredible movie tonight because I have one heck of a recommendation for you. Now that Halloween month is over (woe is me) we can get back to other genres of movies other than horror. Just kidding! You guessed it, I have another horror recommendation for you guys this week. This one is more of a dramatic horror and a thriller so I wouldn’t classify it as a Halloween horror film. Regardless of it’s classification though, this movie is incredible. I realize that that is a strong word. This movie deserves it.
Halloween is a week and a day away! Yahoo! I’m pumped. I have some Halloween decor ideas going up on Monday, so stay tuned for that, and there are two more Halloween movie recommendations coming down the pipeline (including this one). I hate how quickly special occasions come and go. It seems like I’m always just in the middle of prepping and celebrating and then it’s over. Womp womp. Oh well, if there’s only a week and a day left then we’ll make it count!
How great is it that Halloween is on a Saturday this year? Pretty darn great in my opinion. I’m planning on throwing a Halloween party and dressing up as Winifred Sanderson alongside my blonde and brunette girlfriends so that we will be the Sanderson Sisters. The problem is, all the people I’ve told this to have said, “Who are the Sanderson Sisters?” Ugh. What are your thoughts? Would you get it? Either way, we’re going for it so at the very least we’ll look like well coordinated witches. Speaking of witches… Today’s recommendation was the terror of my childhood and maybe one of the reasons I love horror movies so much to this day. I watched it again last night to refresh my memory and I have to say that it’s still pretty creepy and loads of fun to watch.
Halloween month is upon us! It’s the month of the year that I always look forward to and my husband always dreads. I can’t wait to watch all the horror movies I can get my hands on and revisit some old favourites. My husband dreads it because he’s forced to watch them all too. What can I say, you can’t watch horror movies alone. It’s a rule or something.
It’s Friday, which doesn’t mean much to me, because I’m on vacation! Sorry to rub it in, but it’s amazing here. I’m in Kelowna and it’s so picturesque. There are mountains everywhere, there are wineries everywhere, and the other day I went to a kangaroo and wallaby sanctuary and held a baby kangaroo. Her name is Gracie and I wanted to keep her! I also held a sugar glider, she was incredibly cute as well. Keep posted, I will be doing a post with photos soon. Anyways, you need to know what to watch tonight. Well, you won’t be disappointed.
It’s Friday! Better yet, it’s the last day of work before I’m on vacation for two weeks! I’m on a plane tomorrow and off to visit my mom in beautiful British Columbia, where I will be doing lots of hiking, cooking (look out for some delicious recipes coming your way!) and other generally awesome things. I will be keeping you all posted so keep an eye out. As such, I’ve decided to recommend a movie that has made my husband all the more hesitant to go camping or hiking or into nature at all really. Backcountry was originally recommended to me by Eric over at The IPC who shares my love for horror movies. This recommendation did not disappoint.
Happy Friday to everyone and a VERY happy birthday to my amazing brother, Shane! He’s the very best brother I ever had (and the only brother I ever had) and to honour him today on his birthday, I am going to recommend one of his favourite movies for tonight and let all of your guys know what makes it so great.
Hello and happy Friday, all! This week has been crazy for me. I’m terribly sorry for not keeping up with all the posts that have been going up from all my fellow bloggers out there. I feel like the Queen of Slime, the Queen of Filth, the Queen of Putrescence. Boo. Boo. Rubbish. Filth. Slime. Muck. Boo. Boo. Boo.*
*Beware, this post is funny and full of quotes (even though Game of Thrones doesn’t have anything to do with The Princess Bride).
